Cut us some slack! We're really close to the Gulf. This is as much snow action that Hut will see until we re-locate to more northern climes (which, thankfully, is not in the plans). Anyway, the chilly weather made Hut Nut kind of hyper.
I took photographs of a few foster dogs so that they can be placed in a loving home of their own. Hut came along to join in on the fun (and was so excited, he needed to try out the "time out" run). You can see Doogle the St. Bernard observing the penned pup.
Out of a healthy bunch of dogs, Hut was the only one to take advantage of the pool. That also made him worth observing, apparently. These are pretty fun!
Can't help it. I love this one too.

I have a few photographs up on a new service - Photrade. It's a little more hefty than Flickr and a bit lighter weight than SmugMug. It's new, so I'm excited to see what is coming down the pipe in their development.
If you want to find me there, go to http://www.photrade.com/studiodetro
So to celebrate, here are two of the photographs I put up. This is a detail of a sorrel horse's neck and mane. I love that light mane with the dark body color.

Here is another detail photograph (a red roan):

It can't get any sweeter than a tender little baby ... well, maybe two sweet lil' things ...
Precious faces and very short attention spans!
guilt isn't freedom.
Regret and guilt have a lot of power when not evaluated next to God's grace and love. Self-inflicted "punishment" vs. God-gifted relationship. The truth about life is that we'll never measure up to anyone's standard, definitely not our own.
guilt isn't humility.
How to relate to God (a replacement for "religion") is to speak and think to Him with a humble heart.
When I come to God with a personal agenda and in defense of my mistakes, I hold a personal conversation with myself! When I come to God needing Him, He is able to work in my life. In humility I don't focus on deepening my pain (guilt) and reveling in my needs (regret), God completes me and I see a whole lot more of His character.
"My personal life may be crowded with small petty incidents, altogether unnoticeable and mean; but if I obey Jesus Christ in the haphazard circumstances, they become pinholes through which I see the face of God, and when I stand face to face with God I will discover that through my obedience thousands were blessed. When once God's Redemption comes to the point of obedience in a human soul, it always creates."
Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, November 2nd
obey.
It is farther reaching than guilt.
G and I went on a great family trip this month. Here's one of my fav. photographs of him fly fishing in a beautiful (and very remote) glacial lake.
Here are some of my latest photographs from my "childsplay project".
I am gathering photographs that explain childhood to me. Excitement, curiosity, color, the rapid intake of anything new, innocence and just plain fun ... those are some words I have for childhood; now I work to capture them on "film" - digitally, of course.
Thankfully I have some wonderful friends with amazingly willing kiddos. What kid doesn't want to have fun and undivided attention at the same time?!
