Grant and I made a new friend -
a wedding photographer in Orange County, Brian Khang. He's much more fond of Orange County, CA than Spring, TX (and we don't blame him); however, he very much wanted to take photographs of horses in fields. This "dream" of his came up in conversation not more than a week after Grant and I decided to lay off the massive amounts of photographs we take of the ranch ... we didn't want to bore the few people who view our photo stream. Turns out, our lifestyle isn't that boring. You just have to be from somewhere else to find it novel.
Such is life, I guess! Sometimes photographers stop looking at places very close to home ... we just stopped valuing places close to home as fascinating places. I suppose if a photographer can make a careful interesting study of the "mundane", the new and the interesting will be that much more natural to record.
So, Brian gets some help from Scout as he photographs horses. And we test Brian's mettle by running through a messy cow field. We also made a quick trip into town and hit the diner and the general store. Brain said, "I feel like I've had culture." Hmmm. Super cute! And we drove through Cat Spring, TX on the way back to Houston. It's cuter than old town Spring IMO. And maybe Brian's.
We're looking forward to the next time we get to spend some time with Brian. Maybe it will be when Grant and I are in Orange County, experiencing Brian's version of "everyday" ... cameras in hand.

I'm so sorry you got a cold, Brian. Too bad I can't promise "better" weather, but at least it will probably be warmer. Looking forward to next time!
